You want to cancel your bond.

You don’t know where to start.

I’m here to help.

At this point I’m assuming you have paid back all your outstanding debt to the bank, or maybe there’s only a small amount to be dealt with.

Let’s start by looking at your options:

  1. If you have an access bond, or a flexi bond, meaning you can use the credit available again, you might choose to keep the bond ‘open’ and registered against the property. As such it could be a source of ‘cheap’ debt. Please do make wise financial decisions and obtain the necessary advice.
  1. If you have a fixed bond, meaning you can’t use any credit available again, it doesn’t make sense to keep it open.

So, how do you cancel your bond?

  1. You send us an email at [email protected].
  2. We will liaise with an attorney that is on your specific bank’s panel for cancellations.
  3. There will be a bit of paperwork, logistics and administration.
  4. Cost for cancellation will be +-R6500.00.
  5. Once the cancellation has been finalised, you will receive your original title deed for safekeeping.

At the end of the day, it is your choice.
